“Releasing God’s Power through the Laying on of Hands”
Hebrews 6:2 – Laying on of Hands is a PRIMARY doctrine in the Body of Christ
Healing and Restoration:
Mark 6:5 – He could not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them.
Mark 8:23-25 – He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. When he had spit on the man’s eyes and put his hands on him, Jesus asked, “Do you see anything?” He looked up and said, “I see people; they look like trees walking around.” Once more Jesus put his hands on the man’s eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly.
Mark 16:18 – … they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”
Acts 9:12 – In a vision he has seen a man named Ananias come and place his hands on him to restore his sight
Deliverance and Warfare
Luke 13:11-16 – … a woman was there who had been crippled by a spirit for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not straighten up at all. When Jesus saw her, he called her forward and said to her, “Woman, you are set free from your infirmity.” Then he put his hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and praised God. Then should not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has kept bound for eighteen long years, be set free on the Sabbath day from what bound her?”
Impartation of the Holy Spirit
Acts 8:17-18 – Then Peter and John placed their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit. 18 When Simon saw that the Spirit was given at the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money
Acts 19:6 – When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied.
Impartation of Gifting and Prophetic Word
1 Timothy 4:14 – Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through a prophetic message when the body of elders laid their hands on you.
2 Timothy 1:6 – For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.
Ordination
Acts 6:6 – They presented these men to the apostles, who prayed and laid their hands on them.
Acts 13:3 – So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off.
Blessing
(Direct application and extending hands toward)
Luke 24:50 – When he had led them out to the vicinity of Bethany, he lifted up his hands and blessed them.
Leviticus 9:22 – Then Aaron lifted his hands toward the people and blessed them. And having sacrificed the sin offering, the burnt offering and the fellowship offering, he stepped down.
Mark 10:16 – And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them.
General Warning
Do not be hasty in the laying on of hands, and do not share in the sins of others. Keep yourself pure
