Worship is defined as to honor, love, to adore or venerate. The modern word comes from the Old English words weorth (worth) and scipe (shape or quality). So put together worship means “the quality of worth”. So when you worship, what quality of worth do you place on God? Your worship will reflect how much value you place on the Heavenly Father. If being in His presence is of high value or worth to you, then you will be seeking out His presence every day through song, dance, instruments, reading the Word, or prayer. True worship is immersing yourself in God. As Christians, we were given the job description of giving God glory. You see this in I Peter 2:9, “You are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of the darkness into His wonderful light.” How much time have you spent basking in His wonderful light today? The more time we spend worshiping and praising God, the more He is able to immerse us in His wonderful light, in His awesome presence, in His manifest glory. So, I encourage you today to evaluate your worship and see if God is the priority of your life, the priority that is worth more than anything else. If you make the Lord your number one priority and immerse yourself in His Presence, it will allow Him to work miracles and move mountains in your life.
