We sing the old songs, “There is power, power, wonder working power in the blood, of the Lamb…” “What can wash away my sins, nothing but the Blood of Jesus…” “At Calvary…” And in Heaven “they sang a new song with these words: “You are worthy to take the scroll and break its seals and open it. For you were killed, and your blood has ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation” (Revelation 5:9 NLT). The Blood of Jesus is at the center of God’s Will being accomplished in preparing a Bride for Himself, a people who come alongside of Him and rule and reign with Him. The Blood of Jesus has been at the heart of all God’s plans and purposes even before the world was created.
Now, with all that in mind, we must realize, there is power in the Blood of Jesus. It is the substance in the heavenly realm set apart as a primary method by which His Kingdom can come to earth as it is in heaven – His blood contains the very life of God (Leviticus 17:11), and through His Blood, the Life of God comes into earth.
The Word of God tells us that the earthly tabernacle of Moses was a type and shadow of the real tabernacle in the heavenly realm (Hebrews 8:1-10). In the tabernacle, there were tools which were of vital importance for a priest to use, bowls of sprinkling (Exodus 38:3). The bowls of sprinkling were the instruments used for administrating or “sprinkling” blood on the various places and things to set them apart for God’s use. The priest would take the blood of a sacrifice, put it in a bowl, and then sprinkle or apply that blood wherever it was necessary.
Zechariah 9:15 says that the people of God, who are in warfare, shall be like “bowls used for sprinkling blood on the corners of the altar.” We are seen, prophetically, in the spirit-realm, as the very instruments the High Priest uses to apply His own Blood. I could go into the benefits of the Blood of Jesus, but we will address that next week. But for now, you need to know that you are a bowl of sprinkling, set apart so that Jesus can apply His own blood to the doorposts of this earth (see Exodus 12).
How can you utilize the Blood and all its benefits and yield to His Hand? The same way you utilize all the benefits of the Name of Jesus and the Word of God and yield to His mighty hand – BY FAITH. And faith is released by the words of our mouths. So, today is the day for you to begin “sprinkling” or “applying” the most powerful substance in all the spirit-realm, the Blood of Jesus (Rev. 12:11 / Exodus 12). Look in the Word of God, find out what the Word says about the Blood of Jesus, and apply it to those situations. Boldly declare, “In the Name of Jesus, I apply the Blood of Jesus to…” Use your faith to put your house, your family, your body, your workplace, etc under the covering of the Blood of Jesus. His Blood holds power over the enemy. Wherever the blood of Jesus is applied, the Life of God becomes active (Leviticus 17:11).
